Woodhill International Market's Farm to Fork Fundraiser:
A Celebration of Culture and Community

By: Alex Degen, Director of Development

December 19, 2024

On Thursday, November 14, the Woodhill International Market (WIM) hosted its first annual Farm to Fork Fundraiser, bringing together community members, local chefs, and supporters for an evening of delicious food and meaningful connection.

This year’s event was a celebration of the market’s mission to provide access to healthy, fresh produce while highlighting the incredible diversity within the Woodhill neighborhood.

The dinner featured an array of dishes prepared by some of Lexington's most talented chefs, each inspired by cultures represented in the community. Guests sampled unique recipes and flavors that showcased the diversity of the over 30 nationalities in the Woodhill neighborhood.

Woodhill International Market was created in 2021 under the umbrella of Urban Impact and is volunteer-led program, thanks to the help of more than 30 individuals. During its April-December cycle, WIM offers locally sourced, bi-weekly drive-thru grocery food pickup to members of the Woodhill community. Community members pay for their groceries based on a sliding scale determined by household income.

As the market looks ahead, the funds raised will allow for continued efforts, ensuring that WIM remains a vibrant space where fresh produce and cultural exchange meet.

Special thanks to everyone who attended, donated, or supported the event in any way.
