Worship on Wednesday

For nearly 10 years, Worship on Wednesday has been occurring at The Prayer Room. The shared time of intercession and adoration has been particularly beautiful in that the group who gathers is very diverse – racially, denominationally, and generationally. Every week, those aged from 18 to 80 gather to seek Jesus together for their friends, families, and the city.

 

Recently a worship album was recorded featuring original songs composed during this time. "Family Reunion: Live at the Lexington Prayer Room" is set to be released later this year. The album features Curt Vernon on vocals and guitar and Vivian James on backing vocals, among others. Curt has led worship at The Prayer Room since it opened in 2015, faithfully seeking the Lord on site every week. Vivian was a Motown recording artist in the 1960's who received Jesus later in life. Some of the music that she and Curt wrote and recorded together already has hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.
